DS was sooooo excited last night!
Congrats! Mannnnn I can't wait to hear from VMI now....
DS is waiting on that too.
Hey degli, I am interested in applying for NROTC scholarship at the citadel, what were your DS stats that helped him get in?
This was not for the scholarship. this was just for acceptance to the college.
to be competitive for a 4 year NROTC scholarship the minimum requirements are a 3.6/1250, also they only want people with technical majors.
Yeah, they used to accept cadets with non-stem majors but the changed I believe four years ago. Its better to have a stem major under your belt, as opposed to others to be competitive.
I don't think the minimum is 3.6 - 1250. That is a little overkill - sounds more like an honors program candidate or weak four year scholarship holder. I know many cadets who barely breached 1100 and have had a four year contract before they matriculated. It all comes down to a case by case basis and all the nuts and bolts of the app process. Then again they dont just give it to anyone so have the highest standardized scores as possible.
per the services, this years 4 year scholarship winners averaged 3.77/1260, the stated minimum requirement is 3.0/1050 but without some mighty impressive extracurriculars that wouldn't seem to offer much of a chance.
