I have searched for this answer and could not find it, so hopefully someone on here can help me. I recently received a Type 1 AFROTC scholarship, but I can not accept it because in order to accept the scholarship one must be admitted to a college. Unfortunately, I do not learn about college decisions until mid December. However, since I was also awarded NROTC and AROTC scholarships, I am aware that the scholarships often have deadlines to accept them. I cannot find whether or not the AFROTC scholarship has a deadline to accept by, but I just want to be sure I do not jeopardize my scholarship simply due to not having a college admission letter yet. If anyone knows if there is a deadline to accept the scholarship, please comment. Thanks in advance for all the help!

As I recall, there was a deadline. And it was stated. So read through your stuff carefully. You should be able to find the deadline. DS has no problem applying to colleges, and being able to accept AFROTC in time.

If you cannot find the deadline, have a parent or other trusted adult read the Info. A fresh set of eyes. Sometimes we can look at something so long and often that we see what we think we see (or miss what we actually see).

You should be able to find the deadline however.

You will be pleasantly surprised by the Colleges that start reaching out to you via e-mail. Many schools want you to bring your scholarship to their programs. Send a few e-mails to colleges that you are interested in. You might be surprised at the results. Went through the scholarship scenario a year ago with DD and they will pursue. The fact that you won the Scholarship indicates to them you already qualify. A great deal of info to absorb in the early days but it will work out. Best of luck and congratulations.

Thank you for the help. Based on your advice, I looked back through the first email I got when I received the scholarship and the deadline to accept is the 31 of May. Thanks so much for the help, and I will make sure to reach out to potential colleges to let them know I have received the scholarship. Thanks again!

One other note. Your dollar will go farther at a private University like Norwich than a public one.
