Accepting Two Different ROTC Scholarships

I recently received an Army ROTC scholarship to my preferred college, and I'm now waiting to hear if I received an NROTC MO scholarship. I have to accept or decline the Army scholarship by March 6th, but I received an email saying results of the Marine Corps board will not be released for another 30-45 days. I would prefer to accept the Marine scholarship, but I don't want to give up the Army scholarship and then not receive the Marine scholarship. Am I able to accept the Army scholarship now, and reject it later if I change my mind or receive a Marine scholarship? If not, do I just decide whether it is worth it or not to risk getting no scholarship at all?

In a word, YES.

Accept the Army scholarship now. It is non-binding and you can later accept an NROTC-MO scholarship if it is offered to you.
I was under the impression that a scholarship acceptance was non binding, but when I was on the phone with the NROTC coordinator for my district he made it sound like my options were either wait to hear about the Marine option and give up the Army, or accept the Army but not be able to accept Marine option if I get it.

Read the wording of any scholarship offer, but none of them are binding. In fact, you can participate in any of the programs up until you start your sophomore year of college and drop with no payback or penalty.

All good advice above. My DS was in the same situation last year. AROTC 4-YR on Board 1, but wanted NROTC-MO. He accepted the AROTC and later declined when he was awarded the NROTC-MO on Board 2. Congrats and good luck on the MO Board.

Not true - good advice from @ProudDad17 - read the scholarship information. There is nothing binding about accepting the scholarship. Think about all of the AROTC scholarships that are accepted and then later declined when the WP appointments come out. The Army figures this in to the number of scholarships they award. There are very detailed instructions in the AROTC portal regarding accepting and declining the scholarship.

No issue with accepting the AROTC Scholarship and then declining if a subsequent NROTC Scholarship is awarded or a SA appointment is received. My DS received an AROTC Scholarship and immediately accepted it. Within two weeks he received a SA appointment. Then a week or so later received an NROTC Scholarship. He accepted the NROTC Scholarship and immediately declined the AROTC Scholarship and SA appointment. He did contact his AROTC first choice school ROO and let him know that he had accepted the NROTC scholarship and had declined the scholarship. The ROO was gracious and wished him the best of luck.
