I am supposed to start Accutane this week, but I just realized it might impact my DoDMERB medical, which should be scheduled in the next month or two. Would this be something disqualifying, and should I hold off on the medication, or does it not matter?

DQ from DoDMERB and requires a medical waiver:

"a. Applicants under treatment with systemic retinoids, including, but not limited to isotretinoin (e.g. Accutane®), do not meet the standard until 4 weeks after completing therapy."

An Accutane regimen is "usually" 4-6 months.

The decision for ANY medical treatment or surgeries is strictly between applicants and their physicians. The DoD will not stand in between those decisions. I just report what DoDMERB will do :wiggle:
