While filling out my DoDMERB I saw if you have ADHD. I clicked yes and talked to my parents about it. My mother told me that I was kinda diagnosed with very mild ADHD in 8th grade but only by a psychologist and not even our doctor. I don't take any medication and it really has not been a big part of my life, its like I do not even have it. But I did click yes because I thought I did have it and now my answer is locked. Any suggestions? I also clicked that I have acne when I don't but of course my answer got locked.

Cannot speak to the ADHD, but I also selected acne on my DoDMERB forms and did not have a problem with it (two sports with helmets).
Unless it is severe, I would not expect it to be a problem.

The cow is already out of the barn door, but the standing advice here on SA before you start clicking things “accidentally” is go to the DODMERB site and read all the menu items on the upper left, as well as take your time and be sure you have been diagnosed with a condition by a licensed professional and it’s in your health records. Now that you have selected certain items, you may see DQs and requests for additional info.

Just go through the process and see how it goes.

Psychologists are perfectly capable of diagnosing ADHD, and are better equipped to do so than most (all?) family practice MD's. Sounds like your "mistake" saved you from failing to report something that should be reported

alright thank you. The thing with my ADHD is that it was one appointment and it isn't in my medical records, and that ever since that one appointment with physiologist in 8th we have not had any other problems or appointments or medication.

alright thank you. Just the fact that nothing regarding my adhd has every been brought up since 8th grade was a little confusing for me and whether it would be a problem or not.

This is a good example of why parents should be part of documenting the medical history. Many kids are seen for various issues in childhood and not really know what was a diagnosis, what condition was coded as for insurance purposes, etc. A kid's recollection might not coincide with the actual record and there's always a chance that something important information will not be disclosed or incorrect information be erroneously disclosed.

I will add that in addition to parents being involved, this is why it is important to have all medical records available to review. I am getting old and can't remember every incident with each my children through the years. Was he diagnosed with asthma or was that inhaler back in preschool for a brochial infection? Fell on the playground in first grade and arm in sling for a few weeks - broken or bruised? Can't remember. It hasn't been a problem since so I blocked out the details, and there is no way that he would have known or remembered the difference. These forms are all about the details! The medical records for medical history are so important.

For any yes answer, I think you have the opportunity to make comments. You don't have to tell us here, but I hope you made use of that section, and carefully crafted your response.

DH remembered things I didn't! Whew! And I also worried that a doctor might retire and it would be difficult to track down, so got on those issues right away! Both DD and dermatologist didn't remember each other. (Who? Oh wait, is this your daughter? Here's her file from 2014!)
