I have received a disqualification letter from DoDMERB regarding my vision (R159.99); it is an administrative AMI that reads, "DOES NOT REQUIRE A PHYSICIAN'S APPOINTMENT: Please perform Optometry/Ophthalmology evaluation to include refraction for best corrected distance vision and corneal mapping to evaluate for evidence of keratoconus, corneal thinning, excessive corneal steepening or ectasia. Please comment on stability of refraction and personal and family ocular history.

Do I just have someone like my mom look into my eyes and make a few notes about my cornea, and then check how far I can see? I'm a little confused there.

I have also received the oh-so-common asthma DQ. Do I just find a pulmonologist or an allergist and have them print out the results of my methacoline challenge test and provide a written statement? Also, how do I send my physician DoDMERB's details for billing?

Any help is very much appreciated, thank you.

Contact your DoDMERB technician for clarification on both.
If they administrative you should not need a Doctor visit.
You may need information from your Doctor(s), from your medical record.

Imo, Go to a doctor, even if it says it doesnt need a doctor. Be as detailed as you can.

DoDMERB will not pay for a Doctor visit for an administrative AMI.
