Character Review Committee deals with known questions involving a candidate's past history such as legal issues, arrests, academic cheating, etc..
Candidates with these issues in their past are typically referred to the Character Review Committee before any final Admissions Board decisions are reached on their suitability for possible appointment to the Academy.
Please keep in mind that a complete background check is also made on each eventual appointee before they are allowed to report for I-Day.
The LAST THING any candidate/appointee wants to do is have previously unknown negative background information discovered when the background check is made.
