Hello,
I just turned in my EA application for USCGA, and I am pretty nervous about my stats thinking about them now.

SAT: 1520
GPA (W): 4.1

I have received varsity letters from my respective sport, obtained 300+ community service hours, became Army JROTC Executive Officer, taught as a Korean school teacher, and others, but I am primarily concerned about my academic stats as they are pretty low compared to that of others from my fellow classmates at school.

Are these Academic stats lower than what USCGA would expect? What would be my chances at EA??
Thank you

I know it's tempting to try to gauge, but the only correct answer is nobody knows. Only way to know is to apply.

You have joined the game called hurry up and wait. The only people who know is the admission team. Don't think about it too much, as you have no control. Good luck.

Truer words may have never been spoken.

No one on this forum can tell you if you will be accepted. Put forth your best admission package and start the waiting game.

Rest in the fact that you have done your best and submitted your best foot forward. There’s nothing you can change about academics at this point. Continue to be diligent at school and work on your PFE should you get deferred to regular action you will have a chance to submit semester grades and updated PFE scores.

There will probably be people with scores better than yours that don't get in and people lower than you that get in. There are so many factors that go into it that you can never truly know, but I will say those are above the typical average average accepted scores for USCGA

Yes, it is true what everyone is saying. There are many factors that go into the admissions decision and nobody really knows how a verdict is approached. But your academic stats are great. Your SAT is definitely on the higher end, and if your weighted gpa includes AP and/or IB classes, then that’s super solid. Don’t let the uncertainty scare you. I’ve been through the wait before. One piece of advice: The wait is already long enough, and you’ll tear yourself apart if you constantly question your odds and live on bears den. Save yourself the struggle, hurry up and wait!
