Approximately how long does it take for a reply email from an admissions counselor? DS emailed his counselor approximately a month ago and has not received a reply.

Maybe give a call? For the my Air Force academy counselor, she never replied to me through email and since it was urgent I called her. She was still very helpful.

I've emailed my admissions counselor at USNA recently, and each time they've responded within 1-2 days. I'm from VA, but my friend from GA with a different admissions counselor heard back in 3 weeks; I think it varies by counselor.

That being said, it is the holidays and they might still be on break. They are also likely swamped with other emails and applications.

Maybe try calling or emailing again?

As you can expect, the Admissions Counselors are busy, and often get hundreds of emails a day. Response time varies by the individual, and I would expect that they get pretty good at prioritizing. Your priority may not be theirs -particularly if the response you are seeking is available elsewhere.

That being said, even with the Holidays, a month is long enough to justify a follow up if its important,

This is probably a good time for the admonition that Candidates should think before firing off an email to Admissions. The Admissions staff is great...they work hard and are dedicated to doing their job, but can get overloaded with mundane questions. Be respectful of their time .....make sure you aren't requesting information that is available elsewhere, or that entails matters beyond your control. Show them that you did your homework before reaching out to them. Finally, consider whether your issue can be handled at the BGO level.

Thank you, It is something that can only be answered/taken care of by admissions.

DS emailed yesterday and got a response today. I’d reach out again. A month is a long time.
