We are also in the same boat. The admissions representative said that a review of applications is now on going. Decisions will be rendered on April 15th. Those who are issued waivers can expect to wait to be cleared all the way till I day. If we do not hear by April 15 th, then we need to be in touch with admissions and medical team. You can also join the live chat with an admissions representative from 2pm to 3pm edt on the usna websiteIs there a possibility that an applicant who is otherwise fully qualified will not be able to attend because of a delay in waivers? I.e., the applicant eventually receives required waivers, but it comes after I-day therefore he is unable to attend USNA.
If yes, what should I do to prevent this from happening to me? Been waiting for a waiver since February, very antsy.
I do wish timing were different because it can put candidates in a very awkward position. By May 1, without a USNA waiver, they are going to have to accept a plan B, whether that’s another academy where they already have an offer and a waiver or a civilian school. If a USNA waiver comes through after that, they then have to back out of the commitment they already made. I’m personally less concerned about doing that at a civilian college than I am with another academy. Nothing I can do about it but it’s very unfortunate.Yes, I just got off the phone with the admissions office and they said to be patient, and that it's still early in the waiver process so not to fret on the possibility of a waiver coming too late.
Agree. Our BGO was saying that the admission review board consists of only 3 to 4 members. That's the reason they are so backed up. Same is the case with the medical team. Foregoing the deposit at plan B school is not easy.I do wish timing were different because it can put candidates in a very awkward position.
