I love my Mom. In 1980/81 she would drive home from work everyday to open the mailbox and open my mail addressed to me. Initially, I was upset, wouldn't you be, but came to realize that this whole college app process was pretty important to her. I remember back then that we interviewed with MALO's (now FFR's) personally at our home. She broke out the heirloom china for tea/coffee, which we never used, hoping to make a positive impression.I check it every day, multiple times a day. Even on the weekend when I'm pretty sure there's a .00000009% chance that portals update over the weekend.
Still no e-mail? Better check the portal anyway. You never know.
Multiply that times 5 schools DD applied to, 1 ROTC scholarship, and a million other small scholarships and I'm about to lose my mind. Mom's definitely do not get the credit for the gray hairs we gain during this process.
DD said she's locking her e-mail down mid-February when the majority of her decisions should come through just to drive me crazy.
Ultimately it happened, much later than today's internet world, but it happened. Just wanted to share because many parents over multiple generations have endured this wait but under different albeit difficult circumstances.
Good Luck!
