I'm currently a Junior in high school and only participate in 1 extracurricular (marching band). I have a leadership role in there, but that is likely not enough. I spend most of my time at the gym, but don't partake in any sports. My ACT score is only a 24 as well. Given that I have a very slim chance at being admitted the first time around, I'm ready to change my routine now, but in college I'll partake in numerous extracurriculars, tryout for some sports, work on GPA, go for leadership positions, etc.) I'm also going to join Air Force ROTC, just not on a scholarship. If I were to reapply to the USAFA while in college, would they look at my SAT/ACT scores?

Yes, if you were a college reapplicant they would still consider your ACT/SATs. You still have a lot of time to raise your score, and remember that USAFA super scores so it only helps you to re-take it as many times as you need

Unfortunately, I cannot see into candidate portals, however if history is any indicator -- if you are a reapplicant, then your portal should retain all the information you've already input.

I always recommend retaking either the ACT or SAT. USAFA super scores, so retaking them will never negatively impact you.

Yes! In fact, my first time applying I had a 1270 SAT. I retook it in college and now have a 1460. It’s still a big part of the application.

If you need any help or advice regarding AFROTC, college, or those tests feel free to reach out- I’ve been in your shoes.
