Hi guys, I'm currently a junior in high school and was wondering what there is to do after I submit my pre-candidate questionnaire? The portal says that I do not get sent the candidate kit until August if deemed competitive? I've heard of people turning in their application in as early as June. Is this possible? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is mine (just the major events and the dates that I remember stuff was submitted):

Late FEB 13 - Acceptance to USAFA SS
01 MAR 13 - Submitted PCQ
02 MAR 13 - Received letter from USAFA via portal that I was competitive and would be receiving additional information in July
09-14 JUN 13 - Attended USAFA SS
30 JUL 13 - Promoted to candidate status, application started
31 JUL 13 - Received letter from USAFA via portal that I was eligible for Early Action Program
22 AUG 13 - DODMERB Exam
15 OCT 13 - Notification of Medical DQ from USAFA via portal
31 OCT 13 - CFA
31 OCT 13 - Completion of USAFA application
01 NOV 13 - Early Action deadline
19 DEC 13 - Notification that USAFA was requesting a medical waiver via portal
14 JAN 14 - Notification of deferral from Early Action Program from USAFA via portal
07 FEB 14 - Notification of waiver approval from USAFA via portal
15 MAR 14 - Appointed to USAFA, found out in person from my MOC at annual "Academy Day"
26 JUN 14 - Basic Cadet Training begins... :director:

It is a LONG process, but believe me, the result is well worth the wait! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Good luck!

Thank you sir for your input. I greatly appreciate it. Also, congrats on your acceptance, hopefully i'll be in the same boat this time next year. :thumb:

Prepare on having everything in by early action (nov 1).

Practice your CFA
Talk to the coach for whatever sport you want to play at the academy. They can help you out a lot.
Make contact with your ALO, call or email is fine
Make contact with your congress people and senators.
Get transcripts ready to send to the academy.
Get 3 rec letters that you can send to whoever will need them.

Showing initiative is crucial. Doing things early will help you be as prepared as possible.

If you do that you should be fine
