Not sure, but I know there is lots of conversation/threads about converting the various types of scholarships in the ROTC forum. I think there is some flexibility but don't know specifics. Can you use a type 7 at out of state colleges.
That is how my son's is too.My portal changed layout and no longer has the box for my application status. All it shows is Cadet Privacy Statement, My AFROTC Application, Configuring your browser, Quick Links, and Classic Home. Did I mess something up?
Mine looks the sameMy portal changed layout and no longer has the box for my application status. All it shows is Cadet Privacy Statement, My AFROTC Application, Configuring your browser, Quick Links, and Classic Home. Did I mess something up?
where is that located? Not sure but I can tell you for our DS, It shows "Application Status is now Offered" (in the same box that indicated "pending" for the last few months) and if you click on the Accept/Decline Box, it shows you the type of scholarship offered.
The way we read the Type 7 it is in-state and public only --conversion to Type 2 only can happen after year one? Let me know if you find out differently.I received a 4 Year Type 7 Scholarship. I'm from NJ, but going to AL for college. Would it be capped at my in-state (NJ) tuition or Alabama's in-state rate? Also, if I'm going out-of-state, would I have to convert to a 3 Year Type 2?
I have yet to read through all the rules, but you can convert a 4 year type 7 to a 3 year type 2, which caps at $18K/year and can be used out of state or at private institutions. Can you use a type 7 at out of state colleges.
Congrats! My DS got a 4 year type 7 as well -- and he's off to University of Wisconsin at Madison! My DS got a 4 year type 7 scholarship!! He's headed to Det 425 Mississippi State !!
this is how mine is too.My portal does not have the usual application status box either. However, my application now has medical on the to do list, as well as a section for dependents and releases and forms. Is this a good sign?

Only if the school offers accepting it, such as Texas A&M....most DO NOT.Not sure, but I know there is lots of conversation/threads about converting the various types of scholarships in the ROTC forum. I think there is some flexibility but don't know specifics.
If Alabama will grant in state rate for OOS student, then you can. But my bet is you will have to covert it to a Type 2, but remember it is capped at $18K/year.I received a 4 Year Type 7 Scholarship.
