Only if the school offers accepting it, such as Texas A&M....most DO NOT.

Mississippi State offers in-state ! If you go on the Wings website you can see what schools offer what .

Can you use a type 7 at out of state colleges.

Last I checked, the following public universities will convert a non-resident student's status to in-state for tuition purposes if that non-resident has a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship:
- Texas A&M
- U. Minnesota
- U. Kansas
- Mississippi State
- U. Georgia*

Don't know whether this info is current for the 2021-22 school year -- as always, you should confirm with the school (in this case, the university bursar / financial aid folks).

Just to be clear, here's how the process works: it's not AFROTC that does this conversion; it's the UNIVERSITY itself. They will re-label your non-resident DS or DD a resident of [Texas][Minnesota][Kansas][Mississippi] for tuition purposes and then charge you the in-state tuition rate. Then AFROTC will apply your Type 7 to pay that in-state rate, up to $18,000 per year, for all four years.

Again, AFROTC doesn't "convert" anything; it's the university that converts your residency status to in-state.

Good luck, and bundle up (if you go to Minnesota) or boot up (if you go to TAMU)!

The format of the page has changed, and part of his application changed to the print the forms for the physical etc, but I do not see where or if he was offered a scholarship, and no email.

I called about the same issue, they said it was an error with the server that some can’t see status.

University of Georgia does the same, they gave me in-state for my Type 7 as a non-resident of Georgia

He received the DODMERB email notification but nothing from AFROTC. When he logged in to check AFROTC status, the award is listed. You've got to click accept to see what Type of scholarship it is. Clicking accept does not actually accept the scholarship, as there are several additional things to select/save before it does. Acceptance deadline is 31 May.

Called Who? Did it only not show the status for those who were denied?

I called the # listed on their website. I do think that us who haven’t received one won’t because I have yet to hear of a portal updated that denies someone.

A fellow classmate of mind received a AFROTC scholarship this morning, does this mean I will not be considered? Are all of the scholarships issued just today? Will I receive notification that I didn't receive a scholarship? Thanks for any information.
