AFROTC Board Results

A fellow classmate of mind received a AFROTC scholarship this morning, does this mean I will not be considered? Are all of the scholarships issued just today? Will I receive notification that I didn't receive a scholarship? Thanks for any information.
It's unclear, which is really unfortunate. Hopefully some communication will be forthcoming for those that don't have a portal update informing them of their status.

I called about the same issue, they said it was an error with the server that some can’t see status.
Did they give any guidance on the next step whether that needs to be an end user (our DDs and DSs) to use a different web browser or reboot? I know she has at least rebooted (first step W/all server issues). Or will the detachment at her school of choice be able to supply clarity on her status when she contacts them. She received the same federal forms as she did for her NROTC scholarship in the portal but not the “offered” tab on main page. It seems there are a few of us in this situation that are standing with a heavy bag of uncertainty.

So DS's portal changed to very few items as mentioned before. When he clicked on the application tab there was the question about the medical as well as a whole bunch of forms to be filled out and uploaded. But nowhere does it say if he got any kind of scholarship. What does it mean????

no clue but i think it means we did not get it

For anyone who received a scholarship, did it tell you what school it was applied to? I know it's usually your first choice but I couldn't find it anywhere on the portal or the email sent out...

Last I checked, the following public universities will convert a non-resident student's status to in-state for tuition purposes if that non-resident has a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship:
- Texas A&M
- U. Minnesota
- U. Kansas
- Mississippi State
- U. Georgia*

Don't know whether this info is current for the 2021-22 school year -- as always, you should confirm with the school (in this case, the university bursar / financial aid folks).

Just to be clear, here's how the process works: it's not AFROTC that does this conversion; it's the UNIVERSITY itself. They will re-label your non-resident DS or DD a resident of [Texas][Minnesota][Kansas][Mississippi] for tuition purposes and then charge you the in-state tuition rate. Then AFROTC will apply your Type 7 to pay that in-state rate, up to $18,000 per year, for all four years.

Again, AFROTC doesn't "convert" anything; it's the university that converts your residency status to in-state.
This would also apply to University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. They offer in-state tuition to ANYONE enrolled in ROTC, whether contracted or not.

Good luck, and bundle up (if you go to Minnesota) or boot up (if you go to TAMU)!
University of Nebraska also will convert. My DS is headed there with a Type 7 as an out-of-state student. I do believe there are a lot more than listed such as West Virginia.

I'm confused, I have had the screen with the "My afrotc Application, configuring your browser, quick links, classic home" all day and haven't heard anything else. Why hasn't any communication been sent out? How am I supposed to get more info?

Does anybody have the AFROTC technician email?? My DS has the same Application, configuring your browser, quick links, classic home which my interpretation is he didn't get awarded a scholarship. One of other streams said they had to email the technician to fix the glitch but I now cant find that email.

Thanks for the updates, folks - please feel free to re-post an amended / extended list with other schools.

Here's a partial list of public universities that will convert a non-resident student's status to in-state for tuition purposes if that non-resident has a Type 7 AFROTC scholarship:
- Texas A&M
- U. Minnesota
- U. Kansas
- Mississippi State
- U. Georgia
- U. West Virginia
- U. Nebraska
Also: U. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will offer in-state tuition to anyone enrolled in ROTC, whether scholarship or contracted or not.

Check with the financial aid/bursar at your kid's intended school to see whether they will do likewise.
