Anyone know when decisions might be given out for the AFROTC board that met yesterday?. How are decisions given?

Hey just curious did you ever get a reply form AFROTC? because my application also met the November 6th board and its now November 20th and I still haven't got a reply. Even though it said on the website I'd hear by the 15th. Thanks!

Everyone is still waiting. I read elsewhere that decisions were delayed until 'around Thanksgiving'.

DD was offered a type seven technical scholarship. She is going to attend an out-of-state school so the scholarship really does not offer her anything. ( our state has full tuition scholarships to in state public schools for all students who meet certain grade point average requirements )

She was recently offered an Army ROTC scholarship to all three of her top choice out-of-state schools. Looks like it's going to be the Army and that is great for her .

I swear no sour grapes here at all but it is a little baffling. She has a 4.0 GPA a 1490 SAT (1510 SAT super score although Air Force ROTC doesn't super score for some reason ) and 33 ACT. 10 AP Classes, she ran a 10 minute mile and a half for her PFA. She is cross country team captain , girls state, honor Society president and has leadership roles in many organizations as well as significant community service .
And yes she was going to major in atmospheric science or engineering which was supposedly the two most needed majors by the Air Force.
My husband was in the army and I was in the Air Force so she has a good understanding of both services. Anyway I hope everyone gets the scholarship they were hoping for and I appreciate all of the great information from this site !

My DS was also awarded type 7 which doesn't help us either. Because I am a disabled veteran my dependants receive tuition free education in state already.

I am curious if there is a chance to be awarded a type 1 scholarship in the next board if he declines this one?. Does anyone know?

So my daughter was awarded a type seven at the early board that took place in September .
I spoke at length with our scholarship technician and her application was reboarded and she met the November board. Her SAT and AC T scores were already far above the historical scores for the type one scholarship but she took both tests again and submitted significantly higher scores for both tests. And once again she was offered a type seven.
Not sure if this help answers Your question!

Similar disappointment over here. 4.3 GPA, 1550 SAT, 8 APs. I did the 1.5 mile in 8:30. Strong ECs with various leadership positions, 2 varsity sports. Still just got a type 7... maybe my downfall was that I chose an aerospace engineering major?
Can't complain about free money though.

Type 7s can be converted to 3 year out -of-state, with just the Freshman year needing to be paid for. The bulk of offered scholarships are type 7.

I was also offered a Type 7 and kept wondering how that's possible with my academic rigor and EC activities. But knowing there's others like me definitely gives me hope haha. Let's just hope the Academy is where I end up going!
