I have November 15th as next notification date.
Anyone know when decisions might be given out for the AFROTC board that met yesterday?. How are decisions given?
DD was offered a type seven technical scholarship. She is going to attend an out-of-state school so the scholarship really does not offer her anything. ( our state has full tuition scholarships to in state public schools for all students who meet certain grade point average requirements )
She was recently offered an Army ROTC scholarship to all three of her top choice out-of-state schools. Looks like it's going to be the Army and that is great for her .
I swear no sour grapes here at all but it is a little baffling. She has a 4.0 GPA a 1490 SAT (1510 SAT super score although Air Force ROTC doesn't super score for some reason ) and 33 ACT. 10 AP Classes, she ran a 10 minute mile and a half for her PFA. She is cross country team captain , girls state, honor Society president and has leadership roles in many organizations as well as significant community service .
And yes she was going to major in atmospheric science or engineering which was supposedly the two most needed majors by the Air Force.
My husband was in the army and I was in the Air Force so she has a good understanding of both services. Anyway I hope everyone gets the scholarship they were hoping for and I appreciate all of the great information from this site !
I was also offered a Type 7 and kept wondering how that's possible with my academic rigor and EC activities. But knowing there's others like me definitely gives me hope haha. Let's just hope the Academy is where I end up going!DD was offered a type seven technical scholarship.
