I am an AFROTC scholarship recipient. I have unfortunately been put on the waitlist at my dream school, Notre Dame. While I am dissapointed by this, I am not discouraged! I will do whatever it takes to attend this fall...
I emailed ND's detachment commander to ask him to formally notify the school of my scholarship receipt (as instructed by my admissions counselor). The AFROTC commander said that he would definitely talk to the admissions office, and even though the final decision is theirs, he would let them know that they want me.
My question: How much of an "edge" do you think this will give me? I know that chances of getting off of waitlists are pretty slim, and I don't want to get my hopes up, but this seems pretty promising. I am hoping it will work similarly to college athletic recruitment (ie: the coach says that if the kid is on the cusp, give him the edge).
Thoughts?
