AFROTC Major/School Qs

I'm not really sure about how scholarship recipients for AFROTC are paired up with their major/school.

For the school, does the scholarship recipient still have a choice of school, as long as it is within the top 5 preferences on the application? Or is the school chosen for the recipient as part of the scholarship package. Same question with the major: Is it chosen by the scholarship recipient or is it chosen in the scholarship package for the recipient within the top 3 major preferences?

Hey! I am an AFROTC Scholarship recipient, so I can speak to this. In the application, put down whatever you want to study, and wherever you thnik you'll want to attend. If you receive the scholarship, you'll be designated one of three types, technical, foreign language, or general. Technical may go to any school provided they major in a designated tech major (find it on the afrotc website). The same case for foreign language scholarships, any school you want, any language you want, provided it's on the list. General scholarship recipients can major in anything they want, however, these kinds of scholarships are rare. The scholarship is not placed at any school unlike other ROTC programs, nor is tied to a specific major, rather a group of majors. You can apply the scholarship to any school as long as it is a host/crosstown school.
