Yeah same here it’s either this or not being able to afford college. It’s all or nothing we sure could use some good news this week
This is a good way to look at it. I frankly don't understand fully why both Army and Air Force ROTC string candidates along like this.To put a little meat on the bones, this last board is all reboards, and there are 1384. AFROTC Admissions estimated (but no guarantees) that the overall selection rate would reach at least 70% and that past year's boards have ended up between 70-80%. So here's the math:
To reach an overall selection rate of 70%, then they would have to make 694 awards on this last board (about 50%).
To reach an overall selection rate of 80%, then they would have to make 1032 awards on this last board (about 75%).
And to reach last year's total number of offers (2534), then they would have to make 858 awards on this last board (about 62%).
As what AFROTC scholarship(the user) has said before its not a matter of who will be within the cut off, but rather wether or not there applicant is competitive within the board. It could be that all the applicants are competitive and they award everyone a scholarship or that no one is competitive and no one gets a scholarship, then that money would be transferred to ICSP.Just kind of spit-balling here, but I wouldn't think this board should take very long. I think it's just a question of how many scholarships they want to offer and then setting the cut-off point to meet that goal. Everyone above the cut-off gets an award. And as I understand it, all the files have already been scored since these are all reboards. Only potentially small complication is if they want to award some Types 1 and 2, but even that is just a matter of setting cut-offs for those also.
Basically, shouldn't this just be a paper shuffle board?
Same for meApplication Home Page changed since earlier this morning. Has no status listed anymore. Is this the same for everyone?
That’s what ours says too.Application Home Page changed since earlier this morning. Has no status listed anymore. Is this the same for everyone?
So if there is no box then it means no scholarship? On DD's portal homepage bottom left box has Accept/Decline Scholarship. She is to check either Accept or Decline.
