AFROTC Type 1 !!!

Proud and humbled to admit I also received a scholarship. But how do you get more information on the typ? There is an "accept" or "decline" button I need to push on the website. If I accept, that doesn't bind me to taking it, does it? I still want to see what happens with USAFA. Also, do they send a separate email? Thank you.

Congrats! I am smiling!! I remember the excitement and RELIEF when these things started rolling in for my own kiddos. I still pinch myself!!

It’s awesome. It’s great. It’s fantastic. Congrats again!

I'm not too familiar with AFROTC, so I can't tell you how to see the type or the notification process, but accepting the scholarship is not binding. You are free to pursue USAFA or any other opportunities.

197 folks were downloaded to DoDMERB today:rockon:
Thank you so much for the information, which means 197 scholarships were awarded by the 1st board. Wish the best for those who were reboarded, your hard work and achievements will pay off in the next round!

My DS received a AFROTC type 7 and is awaiting the Navy ROTC board results which should be coming out shortly. How does the 4 year Type 7 to the 3 year type 2 conversion really work. We read through the manual last night and it is still puzzling. So to summarize:
- With 4 year Type 7 he gets tuition and fees up to a in-state school limit.. How is that maximum amount determined? State school tuition varies in Virginia by the school.
- If you shift to a Type 2 is up to $18 K that can go to either public or private for 3 years correct?
Appreciate anyone that can "break it down Barney style!"
