Hello, I currently got my LOA to USMMA and have signed to arrive on June 29th this year. I was wondering if after graduation to go active duty, do I have to go through OCS? I'm not sure if it matters but I was thinking either Coast Guard or Navy.

If you go Navy, you commission upon graduation, and there is no OCS. If you want to be part of the EOD of SEAL communities, you have to attend SOAS (Seal Officer Assessment/Selection) or the EOD internship. For the Coast Guard you go to OCS Lite, a really watered down OCS for like 2-3 weeks. If you want the Marine Corps, we have leatherneck now. You do the leatherneck program along with USNA mids and commission upon graduation.

If you want to go into the Marine Corps, you no longer have to go through OCS. USMMA was granted the ability to through Leatherneck at the Naval Academy for those interested in commissioning into the Marine Corps. Leatherneck is what the USNA Mids go through instead of OCS. Leatherneck is about 4 weeks there over the summer than compared to 12 weeks which is the length of normal OCS.
