Age

Hey everyone.

I wanted some personal advice regarding age at the Academy. I'm currently a 20 Y/O Freshmen in AFROTC, and have been working diligently towards USAFA for next year, Class of 28. I'd nearly be 22 at the start of BCT, if accepted and if I was provided a Preparatory School spot for Class of 2029, would it be worth it considering I'd be a 22 / 23 Y/O Freshmen, when if I stayed with AFROTC, be a commissioned 2d Lt by then.. Has anyone went when they were older, any advice, regrets or feedback? I know it would be worth it, but does what I'm saying sound odd or?

Just a data point - my roommate last year turned 24 about a month into the academic year. Are there tradeoffs? Yes.
