Hi All!

Extremely excited to be attending AIM next week! Apart from what has already been published on their website, is there anything else we should be expecting? Any advice? Thank you

Be sure to read the AIM blogs if you haven't already. They offer good insight from some kids who did it last summer. One of them belongs to me!

Just go in with an open mind! It'll be challenging, and Cadre will yell at you. Sometimes they'll make up stuff to yell at you about. They'll ALWAYS find something wrong. Its just a game. You can't take it personally!!!! That's probably my biggest piece of advice to you.

My daughter started swab summer yesterday, and after she was sworn in, we had our 15 minute farewell. She was frazzled, just like all the other swabs. I reminded her the same thing. Its nothing personal! They want you to succeed! Its just part of their process!

Good luck and have fun with it!

Be a good, humble teammate. Be present during the sessions and briefings. Learn as much as you can. One of my students will follow you in the 2nd session. By the way, great advice from 27BearDad . . . and have fun!

Every year there are students who arrive for AIM who have no idea what they are getting into. AIM is considered the most realistic of the Service Academy summer programs and is designed to show you a taste of what swab summer will be like. Even if it isn't what you expect, it is only 1 week. You can do it. Take everything in. Make the most of your week of AIM. Help out the other AIMsters in your platoon. Work together. Ask questions when given the opportunity.
