Why is the navy army game so big, but the Air Force doesn’t have any big games like that

Army/Navy is older rivalry. USAFA is newest service academy, so it came along after the "classic rivalry" had already been established between Army and Navy. But I'm pretty sure those at the service academies consider it a big deal no matter which academy they are playing.

Oh riiiight. Thanks

Each Academy has Army/Air Force/Navy Week the week leading up to the game so the enthusiasm is there between the schools. All three DoD SA's are eligible for the Commander-in-Chief Trophy. Army-Navy is also usually the last college football game of the regular season so a lot of college football fans outside of the fan bases of the two schools will tune in.

The Air Force has Army roots (and some can still be seen today). It wasn't its own service until 1947 and USAFA wasn't opened until 1954.

Just curious, what roots can still be seen today?

The Army, Air Force, and Space Force all wear the same camo, the exchange on AFBs/SFBs is ran by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, and there is an Army and Air National Guard for each state/territory. There are more, but those are ones I can think of off the top of my head.
