I’m a junior graduating with the class of 2022 and i’m super confused about when I should complete the CQ but other than that i’m very worried about how i’ll compete.

I have an unweighted gpa of a 3.82 and a weighted gpa of 4.34, with all advanced classes. Does it matter that i haven’t taken all the required classes yet, but i will in the future?

My ACT super score is a 27

I’m a lifeguard in the summers

Section leader for the trumpets in my Highschool band

I’ve played two years varsity soccer

SGA Class officer

Once a member of my highschool yearbook club

A class rank of 33 out of 147

I want to improve my resumé so i would really appreciate all honest criticism and help

The best answer that you will hear repeatedly is to improve every single thing you can, or just to compare your stats to West Point’s class. Though I might add that your ACT needs some improving, their average is 29, aim for higher. And maybe find a way to reach more leadership positions in your extracurricular.

Take the SAT as well and the ACT again (I would do both as many times as you can). But make sure if you do, you study ahead of time and take it seriously. Khan Academy is amazing when you seriously practice their content on a regimented schedule it will make a difference. I did khan academy for 8 weeks and went up 150 points on my SAT and 3 points on my ACT. It will suck and they'll be days you want to do anything but be there studying algebra and comma rules but it will pay off! If you want West Point enough you won't lose the motivation to keep going.

So far, you are competitive. Instead of focusing on how to build your resume, join clubs/activities that are meaningful to you and excel at them. Show that you joined something you had a passion for and made a difference. You will be able to speak to this in your essays for WP and nominations.

You look competitive, I recieved an LOA with similar stats (My SAT Score was probably worse but due to COVID I explained I was unable to retake it having tried numerous times). Obviously shoot for the best grades possible, but maybe add to extra curriculars, get a summer job to add to your resume, keep training physically in order to have a strong CFA, and go in confidently to your interview. Every part of the application has it's own value, I think a stellar interview earned me my LOA, make sure you are as well rounded as possible.
