Hello, everyone. I am only a sophomore in high school, but I am wondering if I am on the right path so far. I'm sorry if this annoys some people. I have seen posts that have said that no one knows if I am guaranteed to get accepted, but I would like to get some advice. Here are some info about me:
Grades Freshman Year (the numbers are in the order of first semester, second semester, final grade):
English-91, 94, 94
World Cultures-91, 95, 93
Honors Spanish-96, 95, 96
Honors Algebra II-94, 95, 94
Science-90, 94, 92
American Government (optional class)-88, 92, 90
Band-97, 98, 98
Sophomore Year (only have first semester grades):
English-91
European Civilizations-90
Honors Spanish-91
Honors Geometry-90
AP Physics-75
Art History-97
Music History-95
Band- A (no number grade this year)
(school does not tell GPA and class rank)
Sports:
Soccer-Fresh/Soph (1 year, stopped to focus on golf)
Golf-JV (2 years)
Extra:
Co-chair of Tolerance Committee (1 year, helped start committee this year)
Diversity Club (1 year)
Bell Choir
Band
I feel that my freshman year was pretty solid, but I am on the border between an A (90) and B (89) in most of my classes this year. What worries me the most is AP physics. This is the first time I've gotten a C in high school. It is a low grade not because I slack off, but because I can't seem to understand the concepts as well as other students. I am worried that the C will affect my application heavily in the future. I will not give up, and am currently working on bringing it up to an 80 at least for 2nd semester and final. I will take BC Calculus, AP Spanish, AP Chemistry, and AP Computer Science next year. I also plan to head Asian Awareness Club next year because the club has not been well led this year. I also am sure that I will make V Golf next year because I have talked with the head coach. Am I on the right path? Anything I should focus on specifically? Any other advice? I'm terribly sorry for making this thread long, but I am grateful to anyone who has read this, and commented. Thank you.
