I have been wanting to apply to one of the service academies for a long time (currently a sophomore in High School) and I have had conflicting reports on whether or not I was on the right track to being a good candidate from my parents, my guidance counselor, and cadets who have visited my school. I was hoping that someone reading this thread would be able to answer this question or give some recommendations on what to do.
Here is where I stand:
GPA: 3.65 (unweighted) 3.72 (weighted)
Sports: Varsity Football (1s), Winter Track (2s), Track and Field (1s)
Clubs: Wounded Warrior Project Club (will be president next year) and Jewish Culture Club
Public Speaking: A member of schools Model U.N. Team
Etc:
Former Boy Scout
Lifeguard
220 hours of community service with the YMCA
I also plan on taking 2 AP courses and 5 Honors courses next year.
I have not taken the SAT's yet (I have taken the PSAT's but my scores have not arrived) but my schools average is 1750.
Thank You to all who reply
