I have one eye that corrects to 20/20 and one eye the corrects to 20/40 and I’ve had amblyopia since birth. I want to become a psychiatrist at either WP or USAFA.. is there any way possible that I would be able to get into either of the schools?

And I also have astigmatism *

Right now, your visual acuity meets standards. I don't know your age or how much you read, but your visual acuity can change over time to where it may no longer meet the standards by the time you apply.

As for the amblyopia (aka "lazy eye"), it is not DQ in and of itself. However, the cause of the amblyopia can be DQ.

The most common cause of amblyopia is strabismus. This is the condition when your eyes are misaligned and therefore are not looking at the same object together.

Another cause of amblyopia is your refraction. You say you have astigmatism which, if bad enough, can be a cause of your amblyopia.

What is your eye glasses prescription? I am wondering the severity of your astigmatism and if the refractive error of your eyes are similar.

+3.75 and +4.25

Those are probably the spheres. What are your cylinders?

The cylinders are the 2nd set of numbers on an eye glasses prescription. It tells how much correction you need for your astigmatism.
