AMI testing questions

I thought I read somewhere that AMI testing was supposed to be performed by a provider within a 60 mile radius of home. I can't remember where I read that though! Concorde assigned a provider that is 83 miles (1.5 hours one way) away. This is a burden as DD is dual enrolled in the university full-time and has limited availability. It's looking like she may have to schedule 2 days of appointments. One for the testing and one to meet with the MD, although she won't know until she calls. Also, since she is a minor, husband or I will have to go with her.

Does anybody have insight into this? If we want something closer, is our only option to private pay? We have Tricare insurance so I know there are providers closer who will take government insurance.

Thanks for any help!

We were in the same boat. We live in a small town and had to travel for all the appointments. The closest being 45 miles away and the furthest being 95 miles away. My daughter received a DQ for astigmatism. We submitted another examination through a local provider which we paid out of pocket for. However, since that exam contradicted the first examination results, it was rejected during the waiver process. My daughter then completed another one through a Concorde provider. This is the one we traveled 95 miles for.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. How frustrating to have the exam results you paid for rejected! Have you heard anything back regarding your DD's waiver?
We are rural as well and are resigned to having to travel.

Waiver received today! She is now 3Qed with a nomination and an LOA to USMA and 3Qed with nomination to the USAFA! Her medical was in the middle of September.
