The Annapolis PD has just announced that they have arrested a 29 year old suspect Angelo Harrod in the senseless murder of Plebe Mom and Naval Academy family member Michelle Cummings. This will never console the loss that the family has suffered, but as a retired homicide detective, the fact this arrest was made prior to Mrs. Cummings funeral means a lot. The suspect was also charged with the attempted murder of two intended targets in which Mrs. Cummings was tragically struck.

If I understood what I watched correctly, the bad guy was released to home confinement, and almost immediately cut off his ankle bracelet? On May 3rd? And the police had been looking g for him since then? Is that correct?

What were his original charges, to warrant home confinement. Makes me so mad. I’m not an expert at all but I don’t understand home confinement.

This absolutely shouldn’t have happened. He shouldn’t have been on the streets. Literally.

I'm no expert at anything but the jails are full. Sentencing guidelines have been neutered. Bail, probation, and parole policies are lax to the point of being dangerous. There's a huge crime surge in many areas. My personal policy is to stay out of the crossfire.

The only characters allowed to do what they do are the criminals, otherwise Police aren't allowed to police and Laws aren't allowed to be enforced, at least that's the impression I get. I know too many LEOs that have either retired or moved out of urban jurisdictions because they cannot do their job (no support). Nonetheless, I hope at least this guy is given poster child status of what is not acceptable and they go after him (including the DA), but I'm not holding my breath.

Released on house arrest with ankle monitor for the following: Assault and firearm possession on 2/10/21. Firearm and drug possession 4/12/21. Removed monitor 5/3/21. In 2013 Two convictions for possession of a handgun in a vehicle and conspiracy to commit robbery. In 2016 pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a handgun (felon in possession). Eight other charges prior to these.

Infuriating.
