Playing the waiting game, have any of you who applied for early action received a decision? According to Facebook at least one appointment has been accepted, I am wondering if there have been others.

If so, when did you submit your application? (Or if you know of others who have been accepted)

Thanks!

DD went to AIM and applied EA. Planning for December 23rd notification, hoping for sooner!

Looking through threads last year it looks like many people received calls early November through early December, so I guess not meany have received decisions yet. I am guessing around Dec 23 they offer declined / other options or transfer to regular admissions decision.

Hopefully I receive an appointment, the a academy would be such an amazing way to serve.

My son attended AIM and has applied EA. Fingers crossed for you all.

Same here. Daughter attended AIM, had everything in really early. Nothing yet!

Your Signature is absolutely hilarious. My favorite is "DS2 - Future Inmate Cell Block C"
DS2 interesting kid. Scored near perfect on SAT as sophomore and has absolutely no plans to go to college or even work. I get behavior notifications daily from principal. Great lax player.

We attended the Genesis Invitational last week. 3 conditional appointments were awarded by Admiral Kelly. About half of the students attending the event had submitted EA.

Am I correct in thinking admissions offers are only made after all medical/vision appointments are completed or can an appointment offer be made prior to this conditional upon favorable exams?

There are conditional appointments, ie.. you are accepted so long as DODMERB qualifies you or things along those lines.

Any other early action appointments yet? Wondering when the next batch will come out.

I have a 33 ACT and 4.0 GPA,
240 Fitness Score, (no point in listing resume and other items) and I am Medically qualified. So many factors to consider however hopefully I have a chance at an incredible career in the Coast Guard.

Application submitted end of September and interviewed early October

Have you received the email that your application was sent to the CCRB?

My son is also waiting to hear from USCGA EA. Hopefully, we all get good news!

My son attended AIM and is still waiting on USCGA EA decision as well. Last week he received an LOA from the USNA. He's not looking forward to making a decision between the two if he's fortunate enough to be offered admission to the USCGA as well.

Ok that is good to hear for me at least, for choosing between the two I would encourage him to consider which mission he wants after graduation, while they ate all crucial to the United States that of the Coast Guard I feel would be the best fit for me. Talking to people in both branches about what they do on a day to day basis helped a lot. As the Coast Guard admissions officer stated in a presentation, “if you want to know what the Coast Guard does turn on the news.”

He's definitely looking at his decision from a post graduate/career type perspective. We're encouraging him to speak with people in both branches on a variety of topics so he can make the best decision for himself (again, assuming he's offered by the USCGA). While it can be a great "problem" to have, it's also a difficult decision for an 18 year old. Thanks for your input!!
