    Hi,

We are waiting to see if DS gets accepted to USAFA prep school. Has anyone been given an appointment since the recent wave of March 15, 2017 to the prep school? Anyone have an educated guess when we might hear something? Also does the prep academy have a different acceptance day than the academy?

Two years ago our son received his appointment on 4/27. His buddy didn't receive his appointment until June!

The way I understand it, "thanks but no thanks" emails denying direct appointments come first, and then prep school and falcon foundation scholarships follow over the subsequent weeks.

Does prep school have all the sports available at the academy?

The web site lists/describes them. It does not have a baseball or gymnastics. Most preps play intramural sports.

My DD got a Falcon Scholarship last week and had to accept by today. She did accept and named MMI in Alabama as the school.

We found after going to R-MA in Virginia they are a boarding military high school that accepts Falcon Scholars. The scholars can not be on any sports teams nor do the extra curricular activities except as assistant coaches etc. since they are not high school students. But MMI is a military institute for those out of high school so she will be able to do sports and extra activities (drama, etc) if she so desires. So not all prep schools have sports available to scholars.
