Anyone going to CFD Oct. 7-8?

Would like to send DS on his own. But he's not 18 so can't get a hotel room by himself. He can uber from Hartford on Sunday night but would need someone there to check him into the hotel. He's staying on Tuesday to practice with the sailing team so would be leaving really early on Wed to head back to Hartford. If there is anyone else heading up at that time, could he hitch a ride with you and we can book a room at your hotel? thanks.

You might just want to bring your DS to USCGA. That is probably the best option as it is not cheap to Uber to and from BDL. You are looking at about $75 each way. Also as you stated the hotel is a huge issue. Hotels don’t like to have minors staying overnight.
You could check out the local area while you are there. Great places to see and great food as well.
By the way the homecoming football game is Saturday October 5th if you wanted to go in earlier.

I’m a USNA mom, but had the same issue with 2 DS’s traveling alone to USNA programs as 17yr olds. I called a hotel of choice, got the ok for them to stay. Also a pricey Uber, but that was part of the trip. We had no problems. So perhaps calling a hotel and setting that up is an option.

Thanks for your ideas. I'm going to call some hotels to see what they say. Otherwise, Homecoming sounds fun to me!
