Anyone heard from NROTC Scholarship Selection Board since 11-18?

For those who are still waiting, maybe this snippet from the email from NSTC will give you some peace of mind, "a majority of available offers are sent out via email during the months of March and April."

I'm not worried yet... but this information is helpful. Thank you!

DS received his notification via email yesterday. He had been awarded an ISR and has been waiting for the official confirmation. He was placed at his #1 school, University of Michigan. He also received a very nice email this morning from one of the Lieutenants at the university congratulating and welcoming him. Such an exciting time for him and awesome to see his hard work pay off. Now we just wait for the Admissions decision to the university.

Congratulations to all who received good news yesterday. For those who are still waiting, maybe this snippet from the email from NSTC will give you some peace of mind, "a majority of available offers are sent out via email during the months of March and April."

Go Blue and Go Navy!
PM me if you have any questions about NROTC at the University of Michigan. DS just graduated and commissioned in April. Congratulations to your DS!

DS received his 4-year NROTC scholarship selection on Tuesday via email. He was placed at his #1 school: MIT. He was formally recruited by MIT for a particular D1 sport so that should help with his admissions prospects - we hope. If that doesn't work out, he's also really interested in attending UNC Chapel Hill, but we're guessing that program fills up quickly. Any one know what the placement change request process is really like? Or the wait list option, in terms of strategizing placement?

Still also waiting to hear from DoDMERB.

We were told by two different NROTC units at selective schools to strategize and place a safe school as #1 on their apps in the event that they didn't get into their selective schools, then the safe school is still there. They recommended this based on the fact that changing schools was not a problem if they did get into one of their selective choices and that both of the selective schools' unit did not have a max limit on the kids that could come in. I'm guessing that's because their acceptance rates were single digits or close so they didn't have to worry about a max.

Good for your son about the recruitment! Athletics do have some pull with admissions. :) Good luck.

We know that one other board has met already this month. Anyone have insight on whether the results will be released before Christmas on that one? Or are we waiting until after the first of the year?
