DS is hoping to eventually make it to PsyOps. Anyone on here have any experience in the MOS or know of someone and their experiences.

An Army officer doesn't start in PsyOps immediately after commissioning, but rather after becoming promotable O-3 (Captain), if they qualify. Language aptitude is a plus.

As mentioned PSYOPs is a branch that lieutenants will transition to generally around the time they are promotable to Captain. They then go to a qualification course to determine aptitude and then get slotted for further schooling to include their captains career course. PSYOPs support both conventional and special operations forces. They also have a sizable percentage of their force in the reserve component. The demand signal to integrate them into conventional units is growing and will grow for the next few years. One key difference is that typically an officer in this track will lead planning teams and serve on staffs but they will have fewer command opportunities . That is true for a few career fields but just something that anyone wishing to make that transition should consider.
