Anyone still in DoDMERBS waiver limbo?

DS had back to back ACL surgery . He's fully healed (surgery and rehab for the 2nd surgery was done in Stanford) and has played varsity football, basketball and volleyball the last 2 years. But he was DQ'd in August, USMA requested a waiver in October and more AIMS in February. There's still no movement in DoDMERBS, when he inquired he was told to reach out to the SA and when he reach out to the SA, he was told to reach out to DoDMERBS. My son moved on to his Plan B but as a parent, I'm frustrated because I know he worked so hard and sacrifice a lot to get our MOC's principal nomination. I'm still holding out for good news, but DS told me USMA told him a few weeks ago that to be considered, he needed to be Medically Qualified by 4/15/2024 :(
 
Hi, did your son have ACL surgery two times on the same knee? DD is in the same boat, but left and right ACL surgery. Left was 2 years ago and they did not DQ her for that. They DQ'd her for the right ACL that was reconstructed on 7/27/23. She was accepted into USMA Prep pending medically clearance by 4/15. We asked the commander and he said not to worry about the 4/15 date. Waiver still under review.

yes same knee, first one was during his freshman year and during covid, so both the surgeon and PT was done by whomever was available. Second one was 8 months later. Last surgery was end of 2021. Good to hear about the 4/15 date.
 
DS has been under waiver for months. Mild asthma induced by allergies. We live in the Ohio valley and allergies are terrible here. The waiting is terrible. We have moved on with Plan B just in case.
