Anyone still waiting ?

Anywhere from now until R-Day. But that probably wasn’t the answer you were looking for. The day to accept admissions for colleges is May 1st, although certain colleges may specify a certain other date. So late April is the time you are looking at.

My DD is still waiting . The last week in March was really tough because she kept reading on this forum that “95% of appointments would be made in March”. She has been waitlisted at USNA and is not holding her breath for that because another candidate from our district was appointed . We have not heard anything from USMA . She’s pretty happy with her plan B and will be reapplying next year . Good luck to all still waiting .

You will have a TWE or a BFE/portal update by 1 May. So, two more weeks. It is really hard, I know. If you need to make a deposit on your other choice of school, please do that. It seems that a lot of TWE's went out at the end of last week--so if you are still waiting, you are still in the running. Best wishes.

Don’t stress if someone from your district was already appointed. My district has 3 USMA appointees, and at least 2 USAFA appointees

DD is currently having her wisdom teeth removed and had a very tough time with the anesthesia. I am in waiting room and just checked her portal and she was denied . Going to be a tough few days for her . Good luck to all still waiting .
My son was cut loose this morning too. I’m so sorry. Good luck with the healing. God knows the plan.

So sorry to hear this. I was pulling for your DD. Best wishes for her and a very bright future. God does have a plan.

DS was rejected today as well. He’s been on Plan B since last year, is very happy where he’s at and the options he has available. I will never understand how all of this works, his application was beyond stellar. We are extremely proud of him and the fact he made it this far in the process. However, we are very jaded and I definitely feel like a lot of this is who you know.
Congratulations to everyone. To get this far in this process is an achievement. Good luck to you all.

We knew no one. My son is an OG now.

I can understand how you feel. I too thought nominations was a matter of who you know. Our family is non-military and of the opposite political party of our Congressman and Senators, and we did not know the Senator who ultimately nominated DS. (DS did receive an appointment) It may be that it is a "who you know" in some jurisdictions, but I believe most of the elected officials try to make it an apolitical process through committees made up of Service Academy graduates. If DS still has a desire to attend USMA, I would contact his Regional Commander and discuss what he can do to improve his package. West Point does like to see re-applicants.

Best of luck to your DS in whichever path he chooses. It is indeed a testament to him to make it this far in the process.

My DS has a stellar Plan B with an AROTC scholarship. He cannot apply again to WP because he will be contracted - he is in college already.
He had the nominations, unfortunately he wasn’t good enough or didn’t know the right people to get the appointment. I realize not all cadets are well connected but there are more than a few that are and this process has definitely opened my eyes that fact.
Regardless, my DS is right where God wants him to be and I am happy and comforted by that.

I believe you can still apply to USMA even if you are contracted with a ROTC scholarship.

Where should I be looking in the portal to find out my status?
It should be on the overview page or the front page if they made any decision on your file. Other than that you don’t see the progression
