I'm currently a Junior with a solid academic and ECA record. I have participated on the Track and Field team for two years (will be 3 including this year). My Sophomore year I participated in JV soccer, but don't know if I am able to play soccer this year- so many things going on (3 AP classes, CAP, NHS Officer, etc.).

My question is, how "devastating" will it be to my USNA application to only have done JV/Varsity Track (by graduation, I will have ran Track for 4 years) and not another sport (soccer) for more than one season?

As a side note, I am not worried about my CFA scores, simply sport participation.

Thanks,

I'm an advocate of less is more. Do not overextend yourself. Better to be on varsity track with solid grades and a leadership position than soccer and track with no leadership position and mediocre grades.

i did jv track and soccer my first two years of high school but chose to manage track last year and manage soccer this year due to the rigor of my academic course load (i also took 3 ap's last year and am taking 3 this year). i also played spring soccer all three years and am playing this year. i was worried not being a varsity athlete would hurt me - but i received an offer of appointment. i agree, leadership is more important and stress that you can handle physical and athletic rigor - you just chose academics as a priority.
