Hi all, I applied for NASS and on the application i put that i wasn't participating in a varsity sport (i was trying out for varsity volleyball at the time and didn't know if i made the team, which in the end I did.) I want to change the information on my application, rather than submit a new one which they tell you not to do, and I e-mailed them from their website requesting information on how to change it (if I could e-mail them or if I would have to call the admissions office), but i have not received any response, and this was a few days ago. What should i do? Any help would be appreciated :)

Have you received a USNA candidate number? Are you wanting to make the change to improve your chances for NASS, for USNA, or for both? I ask only because I think that the NASS application window has closed. I don't know if they will or will not accept changes now.

If you are interested in making changes to improve your chances for USNA Class of 2017, then you should be able to contact your Regional director in the Candidate Guidance Office (admissions). Given that they are currently trying to wrap up the USNA Class of 2016 AND NASS, I would wait until after May 1, UNLESS you want to try to make the change to improve your chance for NASS.

Keep in mind that NASS is a recruiting tool. If you do not get selected for it, it does NOT necessarily have any bearing on your chances to receive an appointment next year.

The NASS application specifically stated that they would not accept any changes once submitted, therefore the answer is no. It might be why you have not heard anything from Admissions.

For the actual application (if you become an official candidate), you will have a chance to include that information, so no worries.

At this point you should do absolutely nothing. When you receive your official candidate letter, there will be instructions on how to complete the application.
