Application Closure

My application has been closed. I received no correspondence about the closure, so I found out about it by checking my application. I emailed my FFR about it, but he has not responded yet. I have a feeling that the closure may be because a) I do not have a nomination (yet? I'm not sure if I'll get one) or b) because I did not complete my FFR interview. Are either of these reasons to close an application?

If the closure came because of option b, is there a way I can resolve it? I tried to do my FFR interview earlier, but my FFR told me that he only conducts interviews with applicants who have a nomination. I believe I am in the running for a nomination from Senator Ossoff, but, even if I do get one, the January 31st application deadline has passed, so are my chances to get into USMA gone?

I'm guessing that both are reasons for closure. I believe the nominations had to be posted by January 31st. Also, my DS was notified the week before that his FFR was not completed. He had an ROTC nomination so that might be why he was notified as he was considered an eligible candidate. His MOC nomination wasn't added to his portal until 1/31 so not being able to interview without the nomination could have been problematic for him. Wondering if that's just a matter of preference for that FFR or a typical practice.

You would not have your application closed if USMA had not attempted to schedule the interview. It is most likely that you do not have an nomination and do not have a path towards an appointment.
