Would anyone with experience be willing to read over my personal statements for USAFA application? I can PM you.

In addition to USAFAmom3, I'd be happy to do the same. My son is in BCT now at the Academy, and I have specialized in college admissions essays for the past six years. :)

Have you searched for the many posts that request essay advice every year? Worked with an English teacher to review grammar, punctuation, organization, parallel construction and to check for ATFQ (answer the full question)?

- Tell the story only you can tell.
- Do not parrot back what you think the SA wants to know or tell them what you expect the SA experience will do for you. They already know that stuff.
- Avoid hyperbole. “All my life I have wanted to be a….”
- Read it aloud to a good friend or near-age sibling - if they start laughing or rolling their eyes, you will know you have gone over the top in tone.
- Be sure you have read the USAFA website thoroughly. If you are going to write something like, it is my goal to fly X type of planes or pursue Y type of officer specialty, then you had better be sure that is a viable post-USAFA career path.
- And it bears repeating, ATFQ.
