Yes. They will be mixed in with RA applications. My DS applied EA last year -- deferred to RA, deferred again during RA board, and finally received a CGAS appointment in late May. Key is patience and having a back up plan if necessary. Will EA applications that got deferred get reviewed again?
Although timing can vary, I'm sure, during the EA cycle my son got the email that his application was going to be sent for review in the next two weeks on 11/13 and he was notified of his appointment by coach/AO on 12/7 with the Bear's Den portal being updated with the formal letter on 12/9. Looking at the class of 2024 appointment post, you are right - RA decisions appear to have started last year around 2/20. So I'm hopeful our appointment list will start growing next week! Good luck to everyone waiting! My son applied regular admission and received the email about going to the review board back in January. Waiting anxiously to hear back!! From previous posts it appears regular admission decisions tend to start being released in late February.
The coach told me they get reviewed again with the second round. He encouraged my son to apply to the first round of regular admission. My son is a solid average applicant and he said that the ES applicants usually have 1500 plus SAT”s when you get deferred you get put back in the second round of regular decision applicants (per what he told us)Will EA applications that got deferred get reviewed again?
Not sure what that means as you can only decide between applying EA or RA. There is no decision to be made regarding ‘rounds’.He encouraged my son to apply to the first round of regular admission.
I am one of those applicants, with an SAT of 1500. I had a semi low PFE score of 213, though. I just hadn't gotten another email yet, and I just really want to know if I get in or not, as I guess all applicants do. Wow! It’s so competitive!! Good luck to you!! That’s an amazing score!!I am one of those applicants, with an SAT of 1500. I had a semi low PFE score of 213, though. I don’t know, it was just his recommendation to my son for his application review. We are new to the whole process! Not sure what that means as you can only decide between applying EA or RA. There is no decision to be made regarding ‘rounds’.
Great post! Every year there are posts from applicants or more often their parents wondering why they didn’t get an offer as they had a really good SAT score. As you point out it’s because that is only part of the criteria considered. The academy looks holistically at the qualities that the applicant offers.SAT and PFE, although worth a good amount, are not the only things considered during admissions. I received an appointment EA with an SAT in the 1300s and a PFE near 200. What those two numbers don’t represent was attending AIM, having a good interview, being top 10 in my class, being a national finalist in debate, winning two regional swimming championships, and being a firefighter since I was 14. I also have been in frequent contact with my AO for over a year and have shown tons of desired interest. Surely the 1500+ SAT compete well, but the Academy isn’t an Ivy League school. It is meant to produce Coast Guard officers and SAT and PFE are only two pieces to the puzzle.
That’s what we are hoping for! Like you my son is very well rounded and a nationally ranked swimmer. I’m praying they look beyond the numbers! Wow,,,I don't have nearly that strong a total package... I envy you and so many others here. I bombed the SAT both times, (1170) The first time I had no idea what to expect, and the second time we had a proctor that was way over the top with Covid precautions which created a really bad situation for test taking.SAT and PFE, although worth a good amount, are not the only things considered during admissions. Same here.Does anyone know when the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board Review Complete will update? I have been waiting for quite a while now, but the box is still blank.
Last year, I think my daughter received her acceptance before that box was ever checked!Does anyone know when the Cadet Candidate Evaluation Board Review Complete will update? I have been waiting for quite a while now, but the box is still blank.
