Application Steps?

Hello all,

This may be a stupid question, but I'm a bit confused as to what exactly is going on. So I'm applying for the class of 2022, and I applied to SLE and got in. That means I have an application portal open for West Point for 2022. On the portal in the Application Overview, it says that the "Initial Evaluation is Pending". Does this mean that I can only start sending things in when that opens or can I mail in signed things before that? Basically, do I have to wait for my junior year to end to put things officially on file or can I mail them in now to get a head start?

Once you send 6th semester transcript (so after junior year) and official test scores they will evaluate and open your 2nd step if deemed competitive. This will be explained during SLE also.
 
Right...so nothing you can do right now but prepare for SLE and maybe ask your teachers to be your recommenders (Math, Science, English, PE)--and get email addresses that they check over the summer. In late May, early June you can ask your Registrar's office at what point in July/August your 6th semester transcript can be sent. However, your official portal won't be open all the way until July.

Thanks for your help! I just wanted to make sure I was doing everything right. It would suck if I waited till summer and realized I could've submitted stuff way back in February.
 
Right now admissions is very busy filling out the class of 2021. The portal stuff will open up for the class of 2020 in early July and you can start getting your stuff in.
