Apply to West Point while on DEP?

I've been a Ranger for over 25 years. I served in a Special Opns Unit, the 101st, and the 82nd, never heard of a "True Ranger". By that criteria, the WW2 guys who crawled up Pointe du Hoc (before Ranger School was formed) are not "True Rangers"? lol A Ranger is someone who has successfully completed Ranger School or served in a Ranger Battalion. Period (as our President says)

Well I know Rangers in Battalion get annoyed when people that went to Ranger School claim say they were Rangers (in the civilian world). Yeah the Rangers in Vietnam and WW2 are definitely Rangers. I'm just saying in today's world, Rangers are soldiers in the 75th. Marines can go to Ranger School... I wouldn't call them Rangers, but Ranger-qualified. But again, I'm not in the military yet so I don't really have the right to talk.

Pkirk618,

Thank you that is exactly the answer I needed.
