I just got the 2028 decision back, and now, this upcoming application process will be my third time applying to USNA. I’ve tried to improve every aspect of my application, but now I don’t know what to do.

Here’s what I’m going to do this upcoming year. I'd love to hear what else will improve my candidate packet and any tips you may have. Thank you in advance!
  • Air Force ROTC (first year as a sophomore)
  • This will be my 2nd year as a manager for a D1 sports team
  • Science major (3.5 GPA. I know it’s not competitive, but I am trying my best)
  • Get at least a 31 on the ACT (super score)
  • Creating a women’s basketball club at my university
  • Coaching at three 1-week long youth summer camps
  • Attending a two-week-long internship in a foreign country with a medical program
  • A current member of a professional fraternity
  • Volunteer at a dog shelter
  • Volunteer at a ruck that honors veterans

Wow your roadmap looks fantastic. I sincerely hope it earns you a spot in Annapolis next year. DD was TD today and is still assimilating it. I'm hoping she decides to apply again. Good luck! You are a brave soul for doing this for a third time 💕.

Have you spoke with an admissions counselor to understand what you need to improve on? It doesn’t help if you aren’t working on the things USNA needs you to work on.

How did you get to manage a D1 sports team? And what sport is it?

The single most important thing you can do is excel at USNA 3/c courses, or any plebe courses you’ve not already taken. The other items will help, but not if they take away from your ability to get good grades in tough courses.

Fully agree with talking to Admissions. I’d wait until the summer, when they’re less busy.

I took biology, calculus, and English this year, and am taking chemistry next year.
