Hey all,
I recently got a letter from West Point that my medical disqualification is final. However, my file is still open for me to complete.
I was disqualified for the following: History of Mood Disorder, Academic Skills Disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, History of Anxiety, and History of OCD. None of these have applied to me for many years now, and I recently had a psychological evaluation done that proved I am normally functioning. I had my doctor send this letter to DoDMERB the second the disqualification came (no results yet). The DQ took a very long time to happen since the DoDMERB website is still down and I had my tests done 2 months ago.
Academically, I placed in the top 20% of my high school class with a 3.91/4 GPA (with honors and AP classes). I also scored 1430 on the SAT. Right now I am a sophomore in college, and I got straight A's in both semesters of my freshman year. I also got into NHS and have multiple community service events under my name. Right now, I'm enrolled in AROTC!
Athletically, I was on varsity and was the team captain of 4 sports (football, wrestling, cross country, and track). And I estimate that my CFA score is around 700.
I do not have a verdict on any of my nominations yet.
On top of all of this, I have an LOE in my file!
So given that I have an LOE and that my file is still open, should I hold out on the doctor's letter that I had my doctor send? My assumption is that I have a competitive file but either the quantity of DQs or one of them being non-waiverable is my obstacle here. Any and all recommendations are appreciated!
