Hi, my daughter is a 2026 and she just started filling out the appointee kit. She did not get a flu shot this year and it appears to be required. But, the handbook says they’ll get a flu shot at the academy. She’s concerned about getting one now in April (if we can even find one) and requiring one again in June? Does anyone know about this? Thank you!

I believe, they are required to have this year’s flu shot, which is still available in most places. If they arrive without record of a current flu shot, they will receive one on I Day. If the have received this year’s shot, they will not be required to get on IDay. Once the Ac Year begins, they will be required to get that year’s flu shot. At USNA they are required to get one every year. I am assuming the same at USAFA. I’m not a physician, but I do not think there is any issue with receiving one now and in Aug or Sept. My DD has procrastinated on her flu shot and will be receiving her’s this week. I have no concern with it. This is all assumption based on reading the packet.

Everything is in the portal for candidates who have already received their appointment.

its in the portal, it opens after you complete the pre-appointee kit, aka the covid questionnaire
also here, at the bottom of the page. If you don't have access to the portal
