CongratulationsDS just sent a text, just received a call and an appointment. I'm praying this is the start of a busy week for everyone. I'm frustrated, I'm at work, can't get the details yet.
What’s the 22nd??
My uneducated guess, again. A lot of the same kids applying to USAFA are sought after by other SAs and other prestigious schools both public and private. That creates some logistical challenges if this drags too long. If it drags out, USAFA might lose students to other institutions. Some kids are bound and determined that it will be only USAFA but many will have multiple options. Just seems to me that to be in the game for the students they want, USAFA has to release a mass of appointments very soon.
Historically, it should be this week. (although history not always best predictor). USAFA seems to be lagging behind USMA & USNA in appointments. By agreement, the Ivys release admissions on 3/28 (I might be off a day). All other colleges have started releasing some decisions but all will be out by the end of the month. If USAFA waits too long some kids will get more excited about schools that show more interest. Appointees have to have time to make travel arrangements to Colorado for April events. Just seems that if I were in admission I'd press for appointments going out sooner rather than later in order to get the kids that I thought fit at USAFA best.
Not yet, he said he was in class when a number flashed on his phone. We had been joking, that if a number with our area code and the next 3 digits that also correspond to MOC's field office show up, answer it. He said he recognized those 3 digits and walked out of class. He said, he didn't care of the class penalty, he was not going to miss that call. MOC staff said USAFA would contact him will further information. I'm waiting for portal to update to consider it official and post to thread.
Woah! Congratulations! The wait is killing me too! Good luck to everyone!I know this doesn’t add much to the thread, but I gotta say, the waiting is absolutely killing me. I have a 4 yr type 1 AFROTC scholarship, so a preeeetttyyy stinkin sweet backup plan, but STILL!! [emoji33][emoji33]

You are not alone! I have a 4yr type 7 scholarship and feel the same way.
Same here. It's comforting to realize that we can achieve our goals of being Air Force officers through ROTC regardless of whether USAFA wants us. Commissioning is my goal, but USAFA is just my preferred way to get there. The suspense is absolutely killing me. I know I have options but USAFA is the dream. Best of luck!!!!!
Morning everyone,
So if last year's appointment thread is anything to go by, we can expect a massive release of appointments this week correct?
I'm curious because the wait is killing me.[/QUOTE
This morning my son was called to principal's office and our state representative called and congratulated him on being accepted into the Air Force Academy. It was an awesome moment! glad the waiting is finally over.
What’s the 22nd??
Mass influx of appointments
