Appointment Notification

Wow...does look like unverified intel...admission decisions issued on Tuesdays. USNA seems similar trend, but not as significant number this week at USNA as USMA.
Wait is agonizing!!!!

Congrats to all of you receiving your BFE. It was one of the most wonderful days in our family. Most will hear from your Congressman or RC first. They normally given them time to contact you before they send out the packet. However, I have talked to people that the appointment showed up on their portal before they were contacted. In our case DS was contacted by the RC and Congressman that nominated him before it showed up on his portal or the BFE showed up.
 
Admissions makes the decisions and then starts the process. Nomination authorities are notified and given 72 hours to notify the applicants prior to the portal being updated. FFRs are also asked to wait the 72 hours before notifying candidates. The BFE is mailed during this 72 hour waiting period and the portal is updated after it has ended.

DD got a call this past Thursday from the MOC who nominated her. DD missed the call because she was getting ready for cheerleading practice. DD called back as soon as she had a chance. My DD was surprised a bit because it was the MOC herself who answered the phone and used her first name. My DD expected a staffer to answer the phone or something like... "This is Representative xxx or Honorable xxx" or whichever way MOCs address themselves when answering phones.

Her portal updated 2 days later on Saturday.

No BFE yet.

Same timeline for my DS. BFE arrived about an hour ago. He can’t wait to get home and get it in his hands! Congrats to you all!

Thank you! I had actually taken the day off, and the kids were out due to frigid temps so I was there when he got the call from the MOC's office. The excitement and extreme animation from him is something I will remember for a LONG time. So glad I witnessed it - hard to get that kind of emotion out of an 18 year old kid ;)

Also, when he hits 'accept' in a couple of days, you will be able to join the WP Moms FB group--where we talk about socks and all sorts of cadet related things. If you PM me your real name--we can work on it together. You will find a community of 5000 moms--trying to help another support our cadets.
